  Did an EX-JW wake you up to TTATT or did you put the effort to wake up yourself?

  how many of us were woken up by some apostate yelling false prophets at a convention?.

  how many of us were woken up by someone holding a sign and yelling, what happened to 1975.

  how many of us were coerced to investigate the wt because some ex-jw pulled up a bunch of old watchtowers magazines and told us to read the false predictions?.

  It was myself alone because of being falsely accused by someone in the congregation, the way elders did not handle this situation properly years ago & being slandered by this person which they knew she was lying & did nothing.... that in itself made me question they don't have God's spirit & i believe because that family donates alot of money to the KH fund... i saw JW trending in yahoo & decided to click on it, i didn't want to be blind anymore, it was the Royal Commission in Australia. ..found this forum & everything happened from there

  John Aquila: I believe we all can relate in going thru hell in different ways once we found out... but soo true once the clouds cleared up we we can see the more clearly...I feel the same way too, I don't think I'm an expert either because they have to be ready for it... something has to impact them personally to be open to TTATT

  I agree with John Aquila too there are many who don't qualify but definitely children do... little by little i have been reasoning with my child about it... recently he was talking abt a girl he likes in school & asked me "mommy does she have to be a JW"& i said " bebé do you think it matters to God that she isn't a JW or that she believes In Him & in Jesus?" Of course he responded the latter, kids are smart they are just used to a routine & need to fill the void with other Activities like sports, etc

  heartbroken and not sure what to do...

  i don't know what to do.... i married last year and things have been very rocky.

  we dated for 4 years and did have normal issues but always had a lingering doubt something was just not right in our relationship-behavior to be more specific, he is not a jw, but i am.

  yes i know i married outside the "lord" but after my first marriage to a jw ended in divorce for physical abuse, i was glad i didn't married another jw.

  JW Sister: raped, pregnant what does she do?, abortion or adoption?

  this question came out frequently from a situation known to some of us who knew of 2 cases.... if a single or married sister gets rapped by stranger or incest, a pregnancy results, she is not allowed to have an abortion but neither is she allowed to give it up for adoption?...i always question why not up for adoption?...

  no you will be blood guilty because the child won't be raised in the "truth"... hmmmmm does anyone heard of that?

  is it a matter of consciousness?

  committeechairman: Yes that was the issue, in both cases they were told they cannot put the child for adoption, one had an unbelieving husband and felt the org/elders had no business determining family matters. The poor sister was torn in too, she couldn't keep the baby due to being soo traumatized and wanted to give it up for adoption because she wanted the baby to have a better home environment. The husband was going to leave her, so if you can find it please send!!!

  i need some advice

  yesterday i finally confronted my mom with my research about the wtbts being registered with the un as a ngo for ten years.she didn't get angry at all but she says she doesn't want to doubt the organization, i asked her if she realizes that if this is true what it means and she replied by saying she believes she has found the truth and that satan wants me to turn away from the organization.she also said that apostates make these very clever looking articles to lure us away.i told her that i avoided all apostate websites(which i did) and went straight to the un which confirmed it.i asked her to do her own research on the matter but she refuses to saying she is not going to live her life having doubts about the borg.

  i don't think i can wake her up ,especially if she doesn't even want to think that the organization is not "god's earthly organization".. i was thinking that now that she knows about my doubts i can disassociate myself but as i only turned 18 this week and have nowhere to go if she kicks me out the house(my entire family are j-dubs) i don't know what to do to move forward from this point .do any of you have any advice for me ?

  spunkedTeen: like the other posters said the best thing is to leave the research alone for the time being.... You don't want to risk anyone turning you in to the Elders (that includes your friends in the org. even when you think they are your best friends they will turn you in for your doubts no one keeps that quiet so becareful) and get DF and having to be forced to leave home without you being prepared for it.... Hope you decide what is best for you and focus on your future.

  Use your time wisely and plan to go to a college or university if you can while living at home to get your feet prepared for the real life outside the Organization.

  You can't convince anyone about your research no matter how many facts you show them, the mind is a powerful thing and your Mom invested time/years in the WT and just by her comments gives you a clear clue she won't doubt this org. This organization teaches that if you have "doubts" you are weak and allowing room for "Satan".

  It's a great thing you discovered this at a young age because you won't waste years in the WT since they don't like higher education, but rather earn yourself a good education, good job and great future. Just think by 22-23 you would be able to finish a career and find a good job, those are years you won't get back if you spend them like this Org wants you too... What age did you get baptized?
